What is new media and traditonal mediaor the old media?
NEW MEDIA, On-demand access to content anytime, anywhere, on any digital device, as well as interactive user feedback, creative participation. Another aspect of new media is the real-time generation of new, unregulated content.
TRADITIONAL MEDIA (OLD MEDIA OR LEGACY MEDIA), Traditional means of communication and expression that have existed since before the advent of the new medium of the Internet. Industries that are generally considered part of the old media are broadcast and cable television, radio, movie and music studios, newspapers, magazines, books and most print publications.

Have you notice when you walk in the mall almost everyone have android or smart phones? You can also notice that most of them are teenagers. Teenagers today always have time for there phones or any gadgets (like laptop, tablets, iPod, iPad, iPhone, Galaxy Note, etc...) Based of on what I have read
“Today’s teens spend more than 71/2 hours a day consuming media — watching TV, listening to music, surfing the Web, social networking, and playing video games”

How can the old media survive? What did new media do? New Media is it good or bad to us? Our generation today can easily access almost all the old media on their smart or android phones. Another article that I’ve read says that
“The digital revolution threatens to push the traditional newspaper, television, radio, music and advertising industries into the dustbin of history. Newspaper publishers, book publishers, movie studios, music companies, ad agencies, television networks -- they're all trying to figure out how they fit into a new-media world. Their old way of doing business isn't as profitable as it used to be, but they haven't found a new way that's as profitable, either.”

Do you think that every bit of this is a good thing or bad thing? We all know the advantages of the new media that is easily access and helpful, especially to students, but what are the disadvantages?
The Disadvantages of the new media:
The Disadvantages of the new media:
- Books & Newspapers became useless. Now that students like me can easily get the information on the internet, thanks to Google and Wikipedia our lives made easier and lazier.
- No need to read just copy & paste it, we know what we copy is right because that it’s Wikipedia.
- Way back then we need teachers to learn how to do the things we don’t know and know the things we never knew but that’s all in the past. Now who needs teachers if we can ask Google what we don’t know and Search “How to do this” on YouTube. Many teens today are self studied. It’s pretty impressive, right? There will come a day teachers are no longer needed.
- More time for internet and less time for study. It’s too addicting.
- You can easily be influence by it. It can also lead you too bad things.
- No more personal interaction. You can interact with her/him through Facebook.
